CAA Safety evenings
The CAA presents a programme of General Aviation Safety Evenings each winter. The events which have been fully confirmed for the winter of 2009-2010 are listed below, and all pilots and others associated with General Aviation operations are strongly encouraged to attend an event in their area. Although the emphasis may be slanted towards the host organisation, the content is relevant to all forms of General Aviation.
It is usually appreciated if those attending let the organiser know of their intention, to give an idea of probable numbers. Most events are free, although a small charge is sometimes necessary to cover the cost of hiring the venue or providing refreshments. The evenings start at 19:30 unless otherwise advertised, to last approximately 2½ hours including a short break. The main speaker from Flight Operations (GA) is normally accompanied by a guest, and discussion and questions are encouraged. Everyone present has the opportunity to win prizes donated by generous sponsors.
